Another popular form of gold investing is gold bullion which have been widely used by people, as well as governments, all over the world. The two well-known forms of bullions are gold bars and gold coins. In determining the value of a gold bullion, it would depend on its weight, as it is already composed of pure gold, in addition to a small premium based on the demand for it and how many are supplied.

The most popular and widely-owned bullion coin is the Kruggerrand which has 46,000,000 troys ounces, or 1,400 tonnes. It is a South African Gold Bullion Coin produced in the year 1967. The British Sovereign was issued in the year 1489 under the reign of Henry VII. Up to the present time, it is still being produced because of the symbols of tradition and heritage imbedded therein. Another known gold bullion coin is the American Gold Eagle which was first issued in the United States of America in the year 1986, with the Statue of Liberty and the American Eagle printed on it.

Other known gold bullion coins which have been or are presently in circulation are the Australian Gold Nugget (Kangaroo), Austrian Philharmonic, Austrian 100 Corona, Canadian Gold Maple Leaf, Chinese Gold Panda, Malaysian Kijang Emas, French Coq d’Or (Golden Rooster), and the Mexican Gold 50 Peso.
